3 Wheeled Basic Rider Course

Description:
The primary goal of the 3-Wheel Basic RiderCourse is to provide an introduction to the fundamentals of safe, responsible 3WMC riding. This includes the knowledge and skills for 3WMC operation on the streets and highways, and may lead to licensing depending on a state's laws. Certified MSF RiderCoaches provide a low risk, positive learning environment.

This course is designed for beginning 3 Wheeled Motorcycle riders. Students will learn to operate the controls of a motorcycle as well as develop basic riding skills to do some of the basic maneuvers required to ride on the street. The 3 Wheeled Basic Rider Course is designed to prepare riders for entry into the complex world of traffic. Students will learn how to assess risks when riding and how to develop strategies to reduce those risks. This is accomplished through classroom and on-motorcycle instruction, and includes a variety of learning activities.

Classroom experiences consist of 5 hours of RiderCoach led discussions and the utilization of interactive multimedia. Riding experience is gained by using several different riding exercises that progress from basic control use to more complex street maneuvers. The riding portion is approximately 9 hours of riding consisting of two 4 to 5 hour sessions each day. On-motorcycle instruction is conducted on a paved area away from street traffic. There is both an exam after the classroom portion and an exam after completion of all the riding exercises. Students must pass both portions to receive their MSF certification.

This includes the knowledge and skills that lead to licensing and motorcycle operation on the streets and highways. Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified RiderCoaches provide a low risk, positive learning environment.

Students must come to the class properly prepared to ride with long sleeved shirt or jacket, long pants, over the ankle footwear, full fingered gloves, eye protection, and DOT approved helmet. Arkansas Safe Rider has a limited number of " loaner" helmets, gloves and eye protection.

Student may ride their own 3 Wheeled Motorcycle or Arkansas Safe Rider can provide a limited number of training 3 Wheeled Motorcycles with advance notice.
