Arkansas Safe Rider Motorcycle Education

Mission Statement:

People choose to ride a motorcycle for lots of reasons, economics, transportation, and camaraderie with other riders, and for the enjoyment and freedom of riding the open road.

The goal of Arkansas Safe Rider Motorcycle Education is to make your motorcycle riding safer and more enjoyable by teaching both new and experienced motorcyclists the technical skills and mental strategies necessary to operate a motorcycle, or 3 wheeled motorcycle and to provide an ongoing learning experience for riders of all ability levels.

Arkansas Safe Rider is here to make your motorcycle ride safer and more enjoyable.  Arkansas Safe Rider uses only Motorcycle Safety Foundation courses and Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified RiderCoaches.  We endeavor to coach riders in a safe, non-threatening, enjoyable manner in the physical skills and mental strategies necessary to ride in a safe manner and to provide an ongoing learning experience for the riders by utilizing the sequences of classes provided by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.  Notice we use the term “coach” instead of “teach”.  Our philosophy is to assist all riders in improving their skills by coaching i.e. involving each rider in the learning process.

About the Owner:

I began riding at about the age of 14 and rode for about 25 years (until my children were starting high school).  Like many riders, my family commitments, job, and economics caused me to stop riding for a while.  Upon retirement from my “job”, I began riding again and took the Basic Rider’s Course (Not because I was so smart, but it was easier than taking the test to get the motorcycle endorsement on my license. Plus it saved me almost 20% on my insurance.).  After taking the course, I became very interested in coaching new riders.  I assisted certified RiderCoaches in range setups, riding demonstration rides, and general “gofer” duties for about 2 years.  I then got the chance to become a RiderCoach.  I’ve been a certified RiderCoach for the Basic Riders Course and Experienced Rider’s Course for approximately three years and recently became certified to coach the new 3 Wheeled Motorcycle Course.  I continue to coach part time for other course providers as well as coach my own courses.
